•• this lovely video is not mine, but I wish that it were.

This DIY peter pan collar is sewww easy to make, that you may find that your older girls request a trip to the fabric store for some fabulous felt, or really any other material, fabric glue and ribbon.

•• this is not my image

So, in the vain of repurposing, and reusing, and mixing things up. For those crafty people out there, it's super easy to whip together a peter pan collar necklace to add over a sweater or plain basic t-shirt. How super cute is this collar on Etsy. I love the monochromatic look of the black and white, and it transforms a simple shirt into a machine washable, something special.

As the girls got older, my job as a fashion photographer has influenced their personal style. At the same time, my ability to shop, curate, and style has influenced what art directors and other creatives see as my personal photographic vision. Every photographer shoots personal tests- visual stories that are their creative outlet. I like to style my personal work, and usually I style the kids in the shots with primarily thrift store finds. The more I buy from thrift stores, the more international the appeal of the images. I sometimes borrow wardrobe from lines that I shoot, but 90% of the time, the clothes are from the local Salvation Army.
